The Department of Commerce was established in the year 2014 with one UG Course (B.Com with Computer Applications), which is highly a career-oriented course that provides a foundation for students who plan to pursue their career in business, commerce, accounting etc. It is recognized by the University of Kerala. Other than the six semester UG courses, the Department also offers an Open Course “Principles of Management ” to students from non-commerce degree streams.
The Department has maintained high academic standards with a number of ‘A’ grade achievements per semester. It provides a proficient environment to nurture commerce professionals with a very high level of knowledge and competence so that the students can contribute well to the society at large with a great sense of integrity. Over the years, it has established itself as a Center of Excellence in Commerce education. The Department has best practices of mixing Curricular activities with social activities. The Department always tries to maintain a good rapport with the student community.
The Department, headed by Prof. M X George is enriched by 5 Asst. Professors as members of the Teaching Faculty.

INTERNATIONAL WEBINAR
The Department of Commerce and Computer conducted an International Webinar on Friday, 6th November 2020.
Around 102 participants took part in the Webinar.
The topic of the Webinar was ‘PANDEMICS, TRADE AND GLOBAL CHANGE : A RAPID ASSESSMENT OF COVID 19’.
The Webinar started at 10 AM Indian time.
The Keynote address at the Webinar was given by Dr. Varughese K John, Associate Professor and Program Director at the Graduate School of Advanced Technology, Assumption University, Thailand.
Er. Abraham K John – HOD, Computer Science gave the Welcome Speech.
The Principal – Dr K M Francis delivered the Presidential Address.
Prof. M X George – HOD, Commerce felicitated and welcomed the Keynote Speaker Dr Varughese K John.
The Vote of Thanks was given by Mrs. Preetha G Nair, Asst Professor, Dept of Commerce.
The Webinar came to a close at 11.30 Am India time.
