OUR STORY

Mother Theresa College is a self-financing institution founded on 1st July 2014 and stands affiliated to the University of Kerala. The institution owes its existence to the foreseeing vision of its founder and Patron His Beatitude Moran Mor Baselios Cardinal Cleemis Catholicos, the Major Archbishop of Trivandrum. Rt.Rev.Philip Ozhunalloor Corepiscopo,  who has dedicated his life for the upliftment of the downtrodden in this area,  has been instrumental in the establishment of this institution. The church gratefully acknowledges his support and deep commitment to the integral growth of this region.

It is an institution run by the Major Archdiocese of Trivandrum of the Syro-Malankara Catholic church, which is recognised as a minority community in the state of Kerala. The management is a leading educational agency in the state having an excellent reputation for governing and running Mar Ivanios College, Thiruvananthapuram, one of the top-ranked institutions in the state;  which has recently been granted  the status of autonomy by UGC and Government of Kerala.

 

The clean and eco-friendly campus of Mother Theresa College is located in a hilly region on the outskirts of Thiruvananthapuram, the capital city of Kerala. The campus is about 16 kilometres away from Thampanoor KSRTC bus terminal and railway station. The institution has state-of-the-art infrastructure and highly qualified resourceful faculty, and provides high quality education both at the postgraduate and the undergraduate level. The college aims at all-round development of personality, excellence in curricular and extra–curricular activities, discipline, character formation and social commitment among students. The institution also intends the development of the area that is thickly populated and largely inhabited by marginalised farmers. The institution provides equal opportunities for students of all religions in the field of higher education.
